One of the most famous prime ministers of the United Kingdom, Winston Churchill was not a big guy in real life even though he looked imposing and most people of his time and beyond thought that he was a big dude. This was perhaps because Churchill was kind of overweight — though again most people don’t think of him as that.

About Winston Churchill’s real height
Winston Churchill’s real height is no mystery — there is actually ample documentation and evidence available about it.
In the book Winston Churchill Soldier: The military life of a gentleman at war by Douglas S. Russell, Winston Churchill’s height is mentioned. Here is exactly what the book says about it:
The young Winston Churchill who arrived at Sandhurst that Friday in September 1893 was eighteen years, nine months old, stood five feet six and seven-tenths inches (5 ft 6.7 or 169.4 cm.) tall, and was of slender build.
Though Winston Churchill’s two passports listed his height as 5 ft 9 in. But you don’t actually get measured for your passport, do you? And we have no reason to think it was any different back then. Moreover, Winston seems exactly the type of guy who would claim to be a bit taller than he really is.
After taking a careful look at Winston Churchill, we think he must have stopped growing at 19 years of age after all because we don’t think he ever looked taller than 5’7″ — though he did look a bit shorter in most of his photos.
Churchill was about an inch taller than Stalin who was sub 5’5½”. Hitler was the one who looked close to 5 ft 9 in tall — though his real height was probably half an inch below that.
